Thinking about selling your trades business someday?
I'm Madison Clarke. I want to buy one good business and keep it running the way you built it.
Start a private conversationWho I am
I live near Johns Creek, Georgia. Trellis Equities is a small, family-backed search fund. We're looking for one business to buy and keep for the long run. This would be our first acquisition. We're not a private equity fund and we're not a roll-up.
What I'm looking for
- Trades: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection/sprinklers, water filtration and treatment, and similar skilled services
- Size: roughly $1 million a year in profit
- Team: ideally a manager or lead tech and a crew who already run the day-to-day
- Where: Georgia first, especially North Fulton, Forsyth, Gwinnett and metro Atlanta. I'll consider anywhere in the continental US.
What matters to me (and probably to you)
- Your people. I want to keep your crew and your manager. Their experience is the reason the business is worth buying.
- Your customers and your name. I want customers to notice as little change as possible.
- Your timing. You can sell now or in a couple of years, leave cleanly, or stay on for a while to help with the transition. We'll work out what fits you.
- Confidentiality. Nobody (employees, customers, competitors) hears about our conversation from me. I'm happy to sign an NDA before you share anything sensitive.
How it works
- 1A short call or coffee. No paperwork. I'll tell you about me and you tell me about your business, only as much as you're comfortable sharing.
- 2A closer look. If it seems like a fit, we sign an NDA and I review the basics with you and your CPA.
- 3A clear answer. I'll tell you honestly whether I can make an offer, and walk you through how I'd structure it.
Not ready yet? That's fine.
A lot of owners start this conversation years before they sell. I'm also glad to hear from CPAs, attorneys, insurance agents, bankers and business brokers who work with owners like you.
